Former Cameron University golfer Peter Svajlen started slow but finished strong to climb to finish seventh Tuesday in the Northern Texas PGA Tour stop at the tough Craig Ranch TPC course near Dallas.
Svajlen shot a 71 Monday putting him right in the mix for a high finish, but he struggled early, logging a triple bogey on the first hole. After two pars, he came right back with back-to-back birdies, but then struggled with three straight bogeys.
Instead of backing up more, though, he regained his swing and played three under par over the next 10 holes to shoot 73 and climb up the ladder to share seventh with six other golfers.
The champ was Matt Weibring, son of touring pro D.A. Weibring, who shot 69-68 137 total.
